Our way of living
True health thrives in harmony with nature. By choosing pure, natural, and sustainable products, you not only nurture yourself but also help ensure a brighter, sustainable future for all.
Pure
Plants in their purest form. Without preservatives, additives, added sugars/salt and flavourings.
Natural
Natural ingredients that undergo minimal processing and contain no synthetic additives.
Sustainable
Products that prioritize the well-being of animals, plants, and people from sourcing to transport.
Our sustainability journey
By 2030, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing and offsetting our carbon emissions, by ESG criteria and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Our domains
We conduct a full life cycle analysis for each product, from extraction to disposal, to understand and minimize its environmental impact. Our actions are divided into six areas based on our core beliefs: pure, natural, and sustainable.
Eco-friendly products
Purasana’s products are minimally processed and free from additives, supporting the environment throughout their life cycle. We prioritize organic, in Europe grown raw materials, and when unavailable, we select non-European sources that meet our lofty standards. Our superfoods are certified organic, and our animal-based products come from sustainable practices like Marine Stewardship Council-certified fisheries and grass-fed cows. Collaborations with partners such as Sowepo further reduce our environmental footprint.
Protecting Nature
We prioritize using renewable resources, such as berries and grasses that can regrow, and sustainably grown fruits and crops. We source raw materials from regions where they thrive naturally and work with certified suppliers who prioritize conservation. Thanks to our IFS certification, we thoroughly oversee the entire production chain. Our packaging is optimized for recyclability, and our marketing is eco-friendly, using wooden display units and recycled paper. Internally, we encourage sustainability by using reusable water bottles and sugarcane cups at events.
Supporting people
We collaborate with Sowepo to provide employment opportunities for people with challenges in the labour market, giving them meaningful work in producing our superfoods. Sowepo's meticulous and human approach ensures the production of high-quality products. We also support suppliers who contribute positively to their communities, such as our organic cacao farmers, helping them maintain sustainable livelihoods and fair wages.
Sustainable packaging
We aim to reduce waste by using one hundred percent recycled PET plastic for products like our aloe vera juice and collagen. Our kombucha bottles have 'tethered caps', which stay attached to the bottle, helping to reduce plastic waste in the environment. We are continuously improving, with plans to introduce globally recyclable mono-material pouches for our superfoods and proteins. We also reduce energy consumption by using paper labels on our glass bottles.
Reducing CO2
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by optimizing transport frequencies and working with carbon-neutral delivery services. We use energy-efficient equipment, encourage cycling to work, and are electrifying our vehicle fleet. Additionally, we are exploring carbon offset projects such as forest planting to further minimize our carbon dioxide impact.
Healthy nutrition
Our organic, plant-based products promote a healthy lifestyle for both people and the planet. Inspired by the idea that "food is medicine," our products, such as spirulina and chlorella, are nutrient-rich and free from harmful chemicals. We invest in research and development to continuously improve the health benefits of our products while minimizing environmental harm.
