Maca is a small tuberous plant (above 3500 m) that grows high in the Peruvian Andes. Because maca can survive in extreme conditions, the plant is rich in nutrients that it absorbs from the soil.
For example, maca is a source of calcium, iron and potassium, all minerals that provide the body with energy and help maintain a bright mind. In addition, maca contains bioactive compounds that, when taken at 1.5 grams per day, stimulate the libido in men and women.
Purasana's maca powder is derived from sun-dried and ground into powder yellow maca roots. Yellow maca is the most well-known type of maca and acts as an adaptogen in the body.
How and when to take maca:
Add 6 g of maca powder to 300 ml of liquid or pimp your smoothie or breakfast cereal with a scoop of superpower. As maca is a stimulant, it is best to take the powder in the morning.
